Brewers

Talk about an interesting team.   Thames hasn’t hit in MLB since 2012 and he’ll be hitting clean up.  Villar could very well be a 20-60 guy and will be a fantasy stud who should go no lower than the 3rd round.

Projected Lineup

Player POS AB HR RBI AVG
1 Jonathan Villar  2B 551 14 58 0.285
2 Keon Broxton   OF 544 19 59 0.243
3 Ryan Braun  OF 511 26 87 0.290
4 Eric Thames  1B 521 20 77 0.263
5 Domingo Santana   OF 539 25 79 0.254
6 Travis Shaw  3B 421 16 63 0.247
7 Orlando Arcia SS 522 10 55 0.236
8 Jett Bandy C 255 9 37 0.243

Getting Villar and Broxton on base with their speed and Braun, Thames, Shaw and Santana on deck could get really interesting.   Will be a very fun team to watch no doubt. They have some hitting depth as well with Scooter, Perez etc.  7-8-P hitting will likely be pitiful and something to watch in first five inning wagers as it appears the last three hitters in lineup will be easy outs.

Projected Rotation

Player IP W L ERA
1 Junior Guerra  168 9 10 3.70
2 Matt Garza  174 7 13 4.34
3 Chase Anderson  143 5 11 4.53
4 Zach Davies  140 8 7 3.66
5 Wily Peralta  129 6 9 4.40
6 Jimmy Nelson  65 3 4 4.43
7 Tommy Milone  71 2 6 4.56

Guerra had a good season and there is no reason to think otherwise.  Jimmy Nelson has thrown 177+ and had ERA’s in the 4s, he is an innings eater and if he can repeat his 2015 season the Brewers would be very happy.  Anderson is a good young arm that has thrown 155+ 2 seasons in a row, any improvement from him could result in mid 3 ERA.   Peralta, Garza I don’t trust at all, they allow tons of baserunners and anytime they pitch i will either fade or bet against.  Davies, Milone are ok.  Average.     1-3 has some sneaky value, 4-5-6 look scary bad.

Feliz is a shaky closer who I don’t trust whatsoever.  Allows too many baserunners had a FIP of 4.52 and is probably past his prime. Brewers setup and long relievers could surprise, BPs are hard to predict.

Overall the Brewers will be one of the more fun teams to watch and could make us some money.  Brinson and Diaz are coming up in the minors and both of them could be all star caliber players.  Brew Crew needs more pitching and a better bottom half lineup to compete but there is a future with this team.
